In-house binding
Do only if you have been trained to do it.
- Put on goggles before starting.
- Cut covers to match periodical size.
- Drill holes 3 holes. 1 about an inch from each end and one in the middle.
- Place screws.
- Add Spine cover.
- *Check which color tape to use by going to stacks to see previous bound volumes. If color not available, use black or brown.
- Measure spine and cut cover accordingly.
- Select tape wide enough to cover spine and screws.
- Cut tape to cover spine making sure tape is about two inches longer than spine.
- Center spine cover on tape.
- Cut both ends as follows:
- From tape corners cut diagonally into corner of spine.
- Then proceed to cut diagonally from tape center to corner of spine.
- *You will be left with three sections in the shape of a triangle on each end of tape.
- Proceed to fold the middle section of each end.
- Place spine cover on volume folding tape from the middle working your way out.
- Fold remaining two sections of tape at the end of the spine cover into the front and back covers.
