Gift Books
- If a gift processing slip (pink slip) is found inside a donated book, you will use any information written on it to type out an order card. Also, you will using the title page and the verso for the book's information.
- Place an order card in the typewriter's platen.
- There are only 5 areas you will need to look at when typing out the book's information onto the order card; Add, shelving location, OCLC #, lines below the OCLC #, and the no. vols./copies.
- If there is an OCLC# on the pick slip, type the number in the OCLC section of the card. If there is an ADD written on the pink slip, then type ADD in the ISBN section.
- The next section you will type information into is the author and title of the item. If there is a “me”, this means the main entry and you will only be typing the title. Type the author's name right next the word “author“. The format for this is last name, first name. Example: Milne, A. A.
- Using the roller, roll down until you are on the title line. Using either the space bar or backspace to align the title three characters after the author's last name. Example: Milne, A. A.
- The next areas you will be typing into will be the edition, place, publisher, and date. There are a few words that can be abbreviated, such as states, press, and a number of other words. Example: Riverside, CA: La Sierra Univ. Pr., 2013
- Type in the last typed page number in the book the No Vols/Pages section on the order card. Ex: 400 p.
- If there are multiple volumes to the title, type in the number of books found on the pink slip. Ex: 5 vols.
- Type how many copies there are to one title. Most of the time this will be just one copy.
- Type Gift in the fund section
- The last section will be the date received. Type in today's date.
- Remove the order card from the typewriter, and double check your work. If everything is correct, insert the order card in front of the title page with the OCLC # facing out. Return the book onto the book truck.

Type the first letter in the title in caps, and the rest of the words in lower case. Only use caps on first word in the title, names, and God.

The best book about North America, Ellen G. White, and God.
